• Collaborate on fundamental and new developments at the interface of virtual reality, simulation software, automotive engineering, industrial engineering, design, data analytics, and development frameworks. 

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and customers to solve common technical challenges. 

• Development of immersive XR simulation software modules and interfaces as well as integration of latest technologies into existing systems 

• Application and individual further development of machine learning and AI methods 

• Co-design and implementation of 3D XR experiences and applications 

• Development of domain-specific algorithms to optimize existing systems and projects

• Planning and improving the underlying software architecture and development processes

• Documentation of research results, new findings and solutions

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, both verbal and written 

• A Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field OR Bachelor's degree with related professional experience OR successful project work and technical expertise

• Ability to apply innovative approaches in designing systematic structures related to software architecture 

• A strong portfolio or references demonstrating technical competencies is a preferred 

• Excellent knowledge of Python, C#, and .Net; with C++ a plus 

• Experience with machine learning, artificial intelligence, 3D engines (Unity), algorithms and statistics, and data analysis and software architecture 
  
  Excellent written and spoken English, spoken German of further great advantage

• Conduct comprehensive testing of software to ensure it functions correctly and meets requirements

• Identify, document, and report software defects for capture and resolution

• Review and monitor pull requests to ensure quality standards and development guidelines are met

• Plan, execute, and evaluate performance tests to ensure efficient and stable operation of software under various load conditions

• Effectively manage tasks and workflows from tools such as Jira or FlexiProject to manage the testing process and track progress

• Accurately document defects found, test results, and test coverage to provide clear information to the development team

• Collaborate with the development team to provide feedback, troubleshoot, and optimize software quality

• Foundation-level certification from the ISTQB is desirable

• Good command of written and spoken English to communicate effectively with international team members

• Analytical thinking skills to solve complex software functions and develop appropriate testing strategies

• Strong communication skills to collaborate with the development team

• Ability to consistently perform recurring tasks

• Initial work experience is desirable, however entry-level:candidates are also welcome

• NICE TO HAVE: 

  • Programming skills in C#, Unity, and ideally Python to perform effective software testing and identify bugs

  • Interest in VR/XR: An interest or background in virtual or augmented reality (VR/XR) is considered beneficial

  • Additional testing certifications such as Certified Agile Tester (CAT) or Certified Mobile App Tester (CMAT): having additional testing certifications such as CAT or CMAT is considered positive to demonstrate specific expertise in agile testing methodologies or mobile application testing

• Creation of simulation software in Unity within NXRT’s “Experimental Dev” Branch

• Shape and influence the direction and content of current Experimental Development projects

• Creation of level, level design, implementation of 3D models and textures

• Support in research tasks such as documentation and reports

• Work with external resources such as HMDs, Vehicles, BCIs, camera technologies

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field

• Proficiency in programming languages, such as C++, C# and Java, as well as experience with game engines, such as Unity and Unreal Engine is crucial

• Writing documentation of code

• Knowledge of game development, including game design, game mechanics, and game art is important

• Problem-solving skills and a creative and imaginative approach

• Good communication and collaboration skills

• A portfolio demonstrating game development skills and experience is highly recommended (and necessary in lieu of real-world experience)
